Queer Horror Readalong

TheyLiterate’s Queer Horror Readalong is an inclusive space where readers come together to explore the chilling, eerie, and thrilling world of horror through a queer lens. Whether you're drawn to haunted houses, supernatural creatures, or psychological terror, our book club offers a diverse selection of stories that feature queer characters, themes, and narratives. They celebrate the intersection of horror and LGBTQ+ identities, delving into works by established and emerging authors who push boundaries and spark conversations about fear, identity, and belonging. Join them for monthly discussions, book recommendations, and a welcoming community of fellow readers who love to explore horror in all its queerness. Come for the scares, stay for the community.

Why a Readalong?

I don’t know about you, but I often find myself unofficially (and sometimes officially) joining book clubs because I get so excited about what those groups are reading. Having an excuse to read interesting books that have been haunting your TBR pile or finding new books you would never have seen otherwise are great incentives to join a book club, not to mention the community that comes along with them (does anybody else have a hard time finding friends and dates who read?).

But, are you also like me in that book clubs can suddenly feel like homework and add unwanted stress to your already stressful reading life? It seems that there inevitably comes a point where I fall behind in the reading schedule (my longest streak in a club was 2 years!), and then I feel necessarily guilty for falling behind in something that was supposed to be just for fun and that nobody really cares about if I fall behind in?

Being a part of a readalong gives you the book recommendations, the reviews, the discussions, and the community WITHOUT the pressure and stress of “joining” a club or making a commitment. Just read along at your own pace, and hop in and out as you please!
